Cornwall Film Festival moves into dance, with two festival screenings

The Cornwall Film Festival is poised for its move into screening dance films during the festival which begins tomorrow, Friday, November 13.

The first of it’s dance film programme, Forward Motion (Friday, November 13, 4.30-6pm, Falmouth Phoenix Cinema 4), creates a moving snapshot of Britain’s screen dance output, and has been curated by the great and good – so it’s good stuff, right! The main programme features short dance films with artist interview, including Touched by Wendy Houstoun and David Hinton; Tra La La by Magali Charrier; and the rarely seen Basini by Liz Aggiss and Billy Cowie, and Sardinas by Lea Anderson.

The second of the dance films is called Dance, Camera, Action (Saturday, November 14 , 4.30-6pm, Falmouth Phoenix Cinema 5) and is a curated screening profiling leading dance for camera work from dance and filmmaker collaborations in Cornwall and the South West. This collection includes work by Cscape in collaboration with Mark Jenkin, Dan Farberoff, All a Scrawl, Emily Dobson and Brett Harvey and many others.
