There’s a free indie screening of The Age of Stupid at the PMS Lecture Theatre, Peninsula Medical School Building, RD&E Hospital, Exeter. Wednesday, November 4 at 7pm
This screening at the Peninsula Medical School, Exeter, is in response to a call from doctors for medical students and research staff to become more active on environmental issues.
When I saw The Age of Stupid at the Exeter Picturehouse in March, the house was less than a quarter full – even with the added interest of a question and answer session with a scientist from the Met Office.
But it’s well worth a look, as Tom Leins says in his review for D+CFilm, this enviro-flick ‘is more unsettling than any dystopian sci-fi movie’, and because The Age of Stupid not only has a an obvious and strong message in relation to our impact on the world’s climate, it’s also highly entertaining and creative, and includes – among other things – some priceless moments from wind turbine naysayers.
For more information contact Gill Baker at the crf@pms.ac.uk. Or visit the Age of Stupid site for venue details.
