A rare Walt Disney collection of original animation drawings on celluloid has been donated to the Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture, at Exeter University. Plus, there’s a free talk from a man who knew Disney himself, on Friday, May 29 at 11am.

Talk of its demise have been premature (or something like that). Animated Exeter, the animation showcase for the south west and beyond, is set to continue in 2010 with a new slicker, tighter and better look and feel.

Graphic artist and music theatre writer Daniel Loveday is set to team up with a troupe of animators and the Tale Valley Community Theatre in East Devon to create a 15-minute film combining animation, live action and an original score.

The company already has links with both primary and secondary schools in the area, as well as outreach and independent training providers.
