We’re getting news from France that Chagford Filmmaking Group has been awarded 57,000 euros of for a joint project with the Centre de l’Imaginaire Arthurien in Brittany to make a film of the 12th century fairytale of Sir Lanval. The newest piece of kit rolled out to make film viewers’ lives easier is the ‘Find Any Film‘ site from the UK Film Council. According to its hype ‘it will find out when, where and how a film is available in the UK – legally and across all formats and platforms – cinema, TV, DVD [...] It’s that bursary time the year, with the deadline for the Exeter Phoenix and Media Centre Galleries digital media bursary rearing its head on February 28. The Exeter Phoenix media bursaries are up for grabs for new and exciting ideas for films based on a new idea or treatment in any genre. The deadline for submissions is February 28. BAFT-nominated shorts will be making an appearance at Animated Exeter in the Exeter Picturehouse, on Saturday, February 14 at 6.30pm. Torquay’s own Roger Deakins has found his way onto another Oscar list for his stunning cinematography. He’s up for the little gold statuette for The Reader, along with Chris Menges.
