• QUANTUM OF PHALLUS

Film boffin Greg Tuck is gonna be hosting a talk about James Bond, machismo and masculinity at the Plymouth Arts Centre on December 9, after a screening of Quantum of Solace.

Tuck, who ‘works’ at the University of West of England, describes himself as ‘a guilty James Bond fan’.

Guilty, indeed – Quantum of Solace is bobbins.

Still, if you really must see it (and don’t say we didn’t warn you), tickets are £3.50 for anybody attending the free seminar.

For details, contact the Arts Centre on 01752 206114.

Of course, anyone who saw Daniel Craig on the Jonathan Ross show the other week will already know the limits of po-faced machismo.

When asked about his hobbies, mean’n'moody Craig mumbled something about ‘liking watches’. Steady girls, he’s taken, etc.
