DON GIOVANNI
Who says opera is elite art - you can watch a live screening of Don Giovanni from the Royal Opera House at Exeter Picturehouse on Monday September 8 for the cut down price of £20, £19 for concessions and £17.50 for members.
The high definition transmission of (household name) Francesca Zambello’s production will begin at 6.55pm. And features what is claimed to be an all-star cast of some of the biggest names in opera, including Simon Keenlyside, Marina Poplavskaya, Joyce DiDonato, Ramon Vargas, Kyle Ketelsen, Miah Persson and Eric Halfvarson.
The season - which is more accurately described as ‘a year’ – will continue with transmissions of Hansel and Gretel on Tuesday December 16; Handel’s Mesiah, marking the 250th anniversary of Handel’s death, on Sunday April 5; Henze’s Ondine, famously created for the Royal Ballet, on Wednesday June 3, and Verdi’s best loved work, La Traviata, on Thursday June 25.
For more information and to book ring the box office on 0871 704 2057 or visit the Exeter Picturehouse website.
