EYE’S WIDE OPEN

D+Cineastes have been invited to join First Eye Productions - an off-shoot of the TOADS theatre company in Torquay which is looking to put together a feature.
Founder and chairman Austin Hawkins told the WMN that the idea behind First Eye was to tap into the region’s talent pool of filmmakers to tackle the more complex challenge of “narrative filmmaking”.
The group’s first flick was a 35-minute monologue called Moving On about an singleton actress falling in love with a married thesp.
Inspired by their efforts, the 12-strong filmmaking group hopped away from TOADS to become First Eye Productions.
Now with a second film, called Moving Aside, in pre-production, the team is hoping to attract new members.
Previous experience is unnecessary but you must have enthusiasm and be available - sounds a bit like D+CFilm’s dating page ad.
