SPACEX SUMMER SEASON
Imagine the embarrassment when confronted with Negar Azimi’s curated programme of artists films called ‘She doesn’t think so but she’s dressed for the h-bomb’, and you’re stood there in your A-(bomb) -line dress.
The Spacex, Exeter’s high art venue, is having a summer season of international art films, and a whole raft of related events.
The films ‘reveal the weight of diverse histories in defining the current moment – whether manifest in the form of national myth, ritual, architecture, or pop culture. In the end, these are not static narratives; they are dynamic, promiscuous and enigmatic’.
Promisucous, ehh?
And ‘you will also get a chance to see ‘Stop. Watch’. New short films by artists that address ecological emergencies. Animate Projects and RSA Arts & Ecology, in partnership with Arts Council England, have commissioned seven artists to make short films for the internet that explore ecological themes’.
There will also be an Animal big Screen in the Park, between Wednesday August 13 and Saturday August 16, in Northernhay Gardens at 9pm (the cost is £1).
