Reel Riders

Reel Ride organiser Caroline got in touch with some more info about the new film night in Plymouth.

“This month at Reel Ride we screened a collection of films submitted by students studying film, animation and fine art at Plymouth College of Art and Design and Plymouth University,” she told D+CFilm.

“We showed a mix of documentary, cartoon animation, concept based film and animation, audio-visual animation and narrative film. The response from the substantial audience, and from the students, has been really positive.

“The diversity and talent that is emerging from participants is a joy to witness, more so is the reception to the work they’ve shown. The response to the films, and to the event, has been extremely encouraging and we hope to continue to build on the current creative network in Plymouth.

“We have been incredibly fortunate in that, without the support of staff at Ride Café and the provision of their venue, this free event would not be possible, we need more local businesses to encourage the artistic community in Devon and Cornwall.

“Our film makers this month were: Phil Birchall; Will Baker; Jon Glanville; Lee Billinghurst; Alex McGinnes; Dan Dunstan; Diego Alcala; and Dom Lenoir & Tim Osgood.

“If you would like to be involved with this emerging set-up, please feel free to submit work or just come along to watch and enjoy. Our next event will be held on Sunday June 15 and all are welcome.

“Films need to be made as AVI files (pc), or MOV files (mac) and submitted to Caroline. You can contact me via email calpabl75@hotmail.co.uk or mobile 0751152295″
