Teignmouth Film soc (video)

Film societies are often the oases of independent cinema in the South West, so it’s always good to hear of one starting up and then getting those bums on seats.

Teignmouth Film Society was officially launched in January 2008 and its first three months have proved to be very successful with audiences averaging 100+.

The society meets on the third Friday of every month at Teignmouth Community College Arts Centre, Exeter Road, Teignmouth. Doors open 7 pm. Screening starts 8 pm, £5/£4 (concessions) Annual membership also available.

The next film, on April 18, is Tony Takitani (cert U), which the Observer called ‘an exquisite Japanese movie’, which was, according to the bbc.co.uk ‘dreamlike and evocative’. But you don’t have to believe them, take a look at the trailer below and tootle along to Teignmouth on Friday, April 18.
