Phoenix funding
Phoenix Media is offering a short film bursary aimed at filmmakers with exciting original ideas. Aw, and we had a bunch of dull, second-hand ideas ready to shoot. Not fair!
Anyway, all films will be screened at Exeter Phoenix’s Two Short Nights event in December.
A sum of up to £500 will be offered towards the budget of the flicks, which will be based on an original script or treatment.
Phoenix Media will also assist with the use of camera, lighting, sound, studio and post-production facilities.
In order to qualify for the bursary, you must reside in Devon and be prepared to produce the finished movie within five months of the original submission.
There’s also a digital media bursary going begging, which aims to develop multimedia production skills and to encourage creative digital arts that use or subvert new technologies.
Ideas can be interactive, generative, visual, sonic, site-specific, installation based, web-based, DVD, PDA or mobile phone based - the list is, as they say, endless.
The bursary includes £750 towards training, materials and other production costs, plus support from Phoenix Media and use of facilities. There is also funding available to help realise the project within an exhibition setting at Exeter Phoenix.
The closing date for all applications is February 29 so you’d best get your proverbial skates on. Click here for more details.
