SWATS team
Here’s a dull but worthy story for you on a Tuesday morning. Tell you what - we’ll try and keep it short, yeah?
Eleven trainees on a media placement scheme in the region were celebrating
at Bristol’s Goldbrick House recently as their year-long training stint came to
an end.
The event was a chance for the South West Attachment Scheme (abbreviated, somewhat tenuously, to SWATS) trainees to toast their success with staff from TV production companies where they’d been placed - including BBC Bristol, Twofour Productions in Plymouth, Bath-based Touch Productions, and Grace Productions in Yeovil.
The 12 month programme, run by South West Screen, allows the region’s most talented TV industry newcomers to develop their professional skills through a range of company-based placements, work-based learning and short courses and stuff.
So, just who are these big SWATS? Why, they are Amy Thornton, Daniel Andrews, Dave Packham, Elaine Findon, Gemma Boswell, Laura George, Louise Johnson, Matthew Wicks, Oliver Coysh, Philiy Page and Simon Hawtin. Wadda bunch of SWATS! You know, like ’swots’. Ha ha.
