Making a splash
We don’t know much about surfing but… Well, that’s it. We don’t know much about surfing.
So we can’t say we’re eagerly anticipating surf-flick Driven, being shown at Plymouth College of Art and Design’s View Point gallery at 6.30pm on Monday (October 8 ).
Still, it should be pretty cool if you’re ‘into that kinda thing’. The flick follows two experienced surfers, Alastair Mennie and Andrew Cotton, as they tackle the icy waves of Ireland’s west coast.
Apparently, Alastair studied at the University of Plymouth and Andrew Cotton was born in the city before going on to become an international surfer. So there’s yer local angle.
Oh, and the movie was made by Anthony Butler, who has taken time out of the PCAD FdA Moving Image course to set up Mr B Productions to shoot the film. Not to be confused with Mr Bean, we assume.
You probably want more information, doncha? Head over to the Driven site for further details. Like, dude.
