War fare (video)

There was a time, as regular readers will recall, we couldn’t move round here for posts about Ashley Wing and his gritty wartime wheeze Between The Lines (tagline:‘We forgive but we do not forget’).

Of course these days we’re more interested in Wing’s latest short, A Hard Day’s Knight, but there’s still a huge amount to admire in his 35 minute feature - not least its staggering ambition (highly unusual for Devon and Cornwall, we think you’ll agree).

So we highly recommend that those of you who missed the flick first time round, catch it on the big screen, in brand-spanking new 5.1 surround sound, when it hits Dartmouth’s Flavel Cinema on Remembrance Day-ish (that’s around November 11, calendar watchers).

Details are a little scarce at the mo, but obviously a show of support from D+Cineastes would mean a lot to everyone who put in their free time and dedication to the project.

We’ll let you know as soon as there are concrete plans for the screenings, but in the meantime, here’s the Between The Lines trailer to whet your appetite.
