It’s Roald Dahl Day today, and if you rush, you can pop along to the Exeter Picturehouse for a soopa-doopa Roald Dahl Day Quiz, which kicks off at 10.30am, followed at 11.30am by the new Charlie and the Chocolate factory. And there’s a fancy dress competition and very special Roald Dahl prizes (which don’t include anything to do with Fantastic Mr Fox because no one’s heard of it, but may include some of the former MI5 man’s racy adult writing).
R-D Day also marks the start of the revamped Saturday morning kids’ club – with 45 minutes of craft activities from 10.45am before the main feature presentation – all thanks to artsy, craftsy, kidsy Tanya Todd. There are deals with the kids’ club membership, but get this – one adult per child gets a free ticket for kids’ club film. So round up those youngsters – it’s the way we get into press showings.
Meanwhile, here’s a wee tune to whet your appetite.
