World in Motion
There are loads of beezer events happening in the region this November. We’ve been wittering on this week about the Cornwall Film Festival, and we’re always dropping D+CFree @ Two Short Nights into the conversation (cos it’s gonna be fantastic, etc).
But we haven’t really put a rocket up your backsides about this year’s Motionplymouth festival (November 12-17).
And it’s really time we did, cos you only have a few weeks left to submit your film/tape/mobile opus. Entries must be in by October 1.
The competition has the following categories. We’ll bold bits up to add a little touch of gravitas.
Phone In - send your mobile phone movie to mobilemovie@motionplymouth.com
Music - pop promos, live events, interviews, exclusives.
Plymouth - a view of the city, either fictional or documentary.
Open category - factual.
Open category - fiction.
The festival’s highlight should be the swanky awards ceremony in Plymouth’s new Roland Levinsky art centre, where winning filmmakers will finally get their mitts on a prestigious Frankie gong. Oh yes!
Those Motionplymouth fellas are plenty ambitious and the festival looks set to be a massive improvement on last year’s efforts. Stay tuned to D+CFilm for more on Motionplymouth over the coming weeks.
