Although the Cornwall Film Festival takes place in Falmouth (from November 8-11, diary fiddlers!), much of the behind the scenes work happens in the hip’n’swinging festival office in Redruth.
This year, the fest is being overseen by Manchester International Film Festival’s John Wojowski, taking the proverbial reins from Laura Hardman who is on maternity leave, eating truffles and watching Jeremy Kyle with her feet up (possibly).
John brings 15 years of experience delivering film festivals and curating touring film programmes in Europe, USA, South America, Australia and Malaysia.
John told D+CFilm: ”I’m extremely excited at the opportunity to produce this year’s event in Falmouth, and I’m already rising to the challenge.
“There’s a wealth of filmmaking talent in Cornwall and we’ve had over 150 short films submitted from Cornish filmmakers.
“There have been five new features produced here this year too, including The Midnight Drives and Dressing Granite - which will be premiering in the festival.”
We share John’s excitement - especially about Midnight Drives which looks bloody excellent. Click here to watch the trailer.
