Given that Crank was the best film of last year, we have high hopes for Michael Davis’s Shoot ‘Em Up, which is being hailed in some (fairly unimaginative) quarters as ‘this year’s Crank’.
In fact, Shoot ‘Em Up could be even better (a brave boast!). According to Ain’t It Cool’s Moriarty, ‘Crank is filthy like it was made by a couple of college guys, while Shoot ‘Em Up is filthy like it was made by an overcaffeinated 13-year-old’.
Apparently it even has someone being killed by a carrot. You didn’t see that in any of the Bourne films, didya?!
Anyway, Shoot ‘Em Up is released in the UK on September 14 and here’s the trailer. Granted, you could probably just log onto YouTube and type in ‘Shoot ‘Em Up trailer’, but where’s the fun in that, eh?!
