Knight moves (video)

We have a new clip from Ashley Wing’s Hard Day’s Knight to show you. Hooray!

It’s a small section of the short submitted to a bunch of festivals this summer.
It didn’t make it through to Raindance, but Wing told D+CFilm he was still optimistic of it being accepted by the BBC.

The ‘mocumentary of epic proportions’ follows Britain’s only professional knight in shining armour. Click here to refresh your memory on the finer details.

The good news is it’s not at all bad (the last line’s a doozy), but we think more of Donald interacting with other people would put his foolishness into context, and things could move at a slightly brisker pace – especially if things are reliant on a one-camera set up. It might even be nice to have a voice over…

But what the heck do we know - Ash certainly seems to be on the right track. Comedy is notoriously difficult to shoot – check out the increasingly woeful Moses Barrington episodes for proof. Or, even better, don’t.

As for the future, Ashley’s writing a feature, set to shoot in 2009, and working on another short he’s planning to bang out before the end of the year. All very inspiring, non?

Anyway, click below to watch the Hard Day’s Knight clip. Let us know what you think, at info@dandcfilm.co.uk or simply leave a comment.
