First place
We’ve mentioned First Light Movies a coupla times before and here they are again, giving a group of youngsters from the Plymouth Arts Centre £4,000 to work alongside professional filmmakers and make a digital short.
The film Abolished? (presumably said with a Neighbours-style ‘up speak’ inflection) will be a documentary centered around the Bicentenary of the abolition of slavery and Plymouth’s involvement in the slave trade through Sir John Hawkins and Sir Francis Drake.
The completed work will be shown as part of Black History Month and the Plymouth Respect Festival.
Stay tuned to D+CFilm for more news on the Abolished? filmmakers.
