Rock star

Heaven knows why, but the existance of TV’s favourite (only?) geoscientist Dr Iain Stewart appears to have passed us by.

Nevertheless, we’re sure the news he’s doing a talk at Buckfast Abbey on May 5 will mean something to someone.

In preparation for the United Nations International Year of Planet Earth, Iain will look at the effects of major earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions in the recent past. Our guess is the effects probably weren’t good (people dying and stuff) but we’d expect Iain to go into a little more detail.

Tickets are £8 (£5 for under 16s) and are available on 01364 645517.
