So, Ashley Wing has got back in touch and it appears there’s been a mistake. Here’s what he said:
‘I have to admit I’m quite embarrassed at my massive cock up in posting.
While it may have seemed I applauded my own work I can assure you this is not the case.
‘The reply I left was left for a much more praiseworthy film – Emma Kempton’s The Crinoline and The Rose.
‘My film was not screened at Exeter Phoenix Centre – Emma’s was.’
Oh dear. Ashley claims it was he who messed up but to be honest it was probably us. Oh well, there’s no such thing as bad publicity, is there?! Just ask Jade Goody!
