We at D+Cfilm are all for women in film and television so were understandably delighted to come across the Women in Film and Television website.
However, rather than finding lotsa pictures of actresses with their bosoms out, we found a site which ’protects and enhances the status, interests and diversity of women working at all levels in both film, television and digital media industries’, which is obviously quite good too.
WFTV has just launched Workline, a new confidential employment advice website and helpline, supported by Skillset and the UK Film Council. And the good news is, you don’t have to be a lady to use the service.
It’s available to anyone working in the UK film and television industry,
including employees, employers, full and part-time workers and those
who are self-employed.
It’s free, confidential and nationwide and offers advice on a series of work-related issues, including contracts, maternity and paternity leave, flexible working hours, statutory disciplinary and dismissal procedures, redundancy pay, jury service, pensions, statutory sick pay, and equal opportunities questions. Yknow, the usual.
You probably wanna find out more, doncha? Well, you’d better email Workline on help@workline.org.uk or call 0870 850 7147.
