Calling all short filmmakers, directors, video artists and camcorder jockeys (that covers just about everyone, don’t it?).
MySpace has chummed up with Vertigo Films to launch MyMovie MashUp, a competition to find the best short film director on MySpace. The winner will get to direct a feature-length movie with a budget of over £1 million. Yes, we said £1 million!
Entries will be judged by a panel of filmmakers and thesps who will select five finalists, who then face a public vote by squillions of MySpace users to decide the ultimate winner.
Then all that’s left, is the small matter of the winner starting work on their feature film. Pretty cool, huh?
The deadline for entries is April 27 and you can find out more by clicking here. Good luck, D+Cineastes. If you’re after some inspiration, check out Ideas For A Short Film by local lenser Mike Whiddon. His short documentary about the Projects gallery in Plymouth is pretty good too.
