Well, that’s not strictly true… But we will try and point you in the direction of flicks you can go and see for absolutely zero pence. That’s nice of us, isn’t it? Yes, it bally-well is.
First up, The Times’ Screen has hooked up with Land Rover (well, obviously), to offer a ‘Go Beyond’ screening at Plymouth’s Vue Cinema. On Sunday, December 17, D+Cineasts can catch a showing of Flags Of Our Fathers, directed by crinkly Clint Eastwood. Not so much ‘Go Beyond’ as ‘way past retirement age’.
The movie’s sposed to be pretty good, but was a massive flop in the States, so they’re trying to create some positive ’word of mouth’. Either way, everyone’s a winner, ain’t they?
More information about the promotion and the film is on the Times website. Oh, and when we say free screening, we mean it’ll cost you a couple of bucks on the blower. It’s still a lot cheaper than usual though, so stop complaining, you ungrateful oiks.
